Test Principle:
Catalase(CAT, EC 1.11.1.6) is an enzyme found broadly in animals, plants, microorganisms and cultured cells. It is the main enzyme of clearing H2O2, which plays an important role in the active oxygen scavenging system.

CAT decomposes H2O2 to produce water and oxygen. The un-degraded substrate H2O2 reacts with the fluorescent probe under enzymatic action, generating a strong fluorescent product. The fluorescence intensity at excitation wavelength 535nm and emission wavelength 587nm is proportional to the amount of H2O2. This kit calculates the CAT activity of the sample by measuring the consumption of substrate H2O2.
