Xanthine oxidase inhibitors (such as febuxostat, Febuxostat Tablets ) reduce serum uric acid concentration by non-competitively inhibiting the activity of XOD and reducing uric acid synthesis. These drugs are widely used in the clinical treatment of gout and hyperuricemia.
The substrate xanthine produces hydrogen peroxide and uric acid under the action of xanthine oxidase ( XOD ), and the catalytic reaction can be interfered by adding inhibitors. Subsequently, hydrogen peroxide produces purplish red substance under the action of peroxidase ( POD ), 4-aminotibilin and color source, and has the maximum absorption at 550 nm.
