It has also been shown to ubiquitinate phosphorylated NFKBIA (nuclear factor of kappa light polypeptide gene enhancer in B-cells inhibitor| alpha)| targeting it for degradation and thus activating nuclear factor kappa-B. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described.
