LIM domains are highly conserved cysteine-rich structures containing 2 zinc fingers. Although zinc fingers usually function by binding to DNA or RNA, the LIM motif probably mediates protein-protein interactions. LIM kinase-1 and LIM kinase-2 belong to a small subfamily with a unique combination of 2 N-terminal LIM motifs and a C-terminal protein kinase domain. The protein encoded by LIMK2 is phosphorylated and activated by ROCK, a downstream effector of Rho, and the encoded protein, in turn, phosphorylates cofilin, inhibiting its actin-depolymerizing activity. It is thought that this pathway contributes to Rho-induced reorganization of the actin cytoskeleton. At least three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"BT LAB","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":56516493443445,"sku":"BT-AP05020-100ul","price":247.5,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0843\/2671\/1640\/files\/Antibody_main_Dungeon4_b9646263-7fda-4fd2-82e8-9047834a0edb.jpg?v=1767148117","url":"https:\/\/www.labcart.com\/products\/limk-2-polyclonal-antibody-100ulbt-ap05020","provider":"LabCart Life Science","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
