Test Principle:
The determination of ammonia content is of great significance in the fields of environment, agriculture, industry and medicine. In environmental protection, it is an important early warning indicator of water eutrophication and organic pollution. By monitoring its concentration changes, the self-purification ability and nitrogen cycle state of water can be evaluated. In agricultural production, as one of the core nitrogen sources of plants, its content directly guides scientific fertilization, which is related to crop yield and ecological balance. Clinical medicine takes it as the key basis for the evaluation of liver function, and abnormal increase of blood ammonia level is an important diagnostic index for serious diseases such as hepatic encephalopathy. Therefore, the quantitative analysis of ammonia content is an indispensable technical means to achieve accurate management and ensure ecological security and human health.

NH4 +, α-ketoglutarate and NADPH produce glutamic acid and water under the catalysis of glutamate dehydrogenase, and NADPH is oxidized to NADP +.NADPH has an absorption peak at 340 nm, and the ammonia content can be obtained by measuring the decreased absorbance at 340 nm.
