Product introduction

Carbon monoxide poisoning is caused by inhalation of the product of incomplete combustion of carbon-containing substances through the respiratory system. The mechanism of poisoning is that the affinity of carbon monoxide and hemoglobin is hundreds of times higher than that of oxygen and hemoglobin, so carbon monoxide is easy to combine with hemoglobin and form carboxyhemoglobin, which makes hemoglobin lose the ability to carry oxygen and cause tissue asphyxia. It has toxic effects on tissues and cells of the whole body, especially on the cerebral cortex.

The detection principle of the kit is that carbon monoxide combines with hemoglobin to form cherry red carboxyhemoglobin (HbCO). HbCO will not be reduced by sulfite, while oxyhemoglobin (HbO2) will be reduced. The HbCO content can be obtained by taking the ratio of the two according to the formula. It is mainly used to quantitatively detect the content of carbon monoxide hemoglobin or carboxyhemoglobin in human and animal blood.
