Test Principle:
Phosphatidylcholine (PC) is a subtype of phospholipid with glycerol as the backbone and containing a phosphatidylcholine head. Its molecules have a hydrophilic phosphatidylcholine head and a hydrophobic fatty acid tail. It often works in conjunction with phosphatidylethanolamine, cholesterol, membrane proteins and other molecules to form the core components of the phospholipid bilayer of biological membranes. It can not only serve as a key structural basis for the fluidity, stability and signal transduction function of cell membranes, but is also widely used as a natural emulsifying stabilizer in the food industry and as a liposome drug delivery carrier in the pharmaceutical field.

Phosphatidylcholine generates choline and phosphatidic acid (PA) under the action of phospholipase D (PLD). Choline is catalyzed by choline oxidase to produce H2O2. Under the action of the enzyme, H2O2 reacts with a fluorescent probe to generate a strong fluorescent product. The fluorescence intensity at the excitation wavelength of 535nm and the emission wavelength of 587nm is directly proportional to the content of H2O2. This kit calculates the phosphatidylcholine content of the sample by measuring the generation amount of H2O2.
