Test Principle:
Triglyceride ( TG ), widely found in nature, is usually stored in animals and plants in a non-hydrated form. It is one of the main forms of energy acquisition and storage for animals and humans, and is also the main component of fat in food. In organisms, the synthesis and decomposition of triglycerides is a key link in energy metabolism. They not only serve as a substance for storing and providing energy, but also participate in the construction of cell structures and regulate the properties of biofilms.

Triglyceride is hydrolyzed by lipoprotein lipase (LPL) to produce glycerol. Glycerophosphate is produced by glycerol kinase (GK). Glycerophosphate is oxidized by glycerol phosphate oxidase (GPO) to produce hydrogen peroxide. Hydrogen peroxide and 4-aminoantipyrine and 2,4-dichlorophenol form a red product with a characteristic absorption peak at 505 nm, which can be used to calculate triglyceride content.
